BASOTHO BLANKET VICTORIAN ENGLAND
R1,300.00
Description
One of the softest warmest blankets you will ever feel – the Basotho people of the mountainous Kingdom of Lesotho in Southern Africa have long been famed for their blanket making skill. These modern blankets manufactured from a 50/50 combination of virgin wool and Dralon fibre have strikingly bright colours and minimal shedding yet retain the soft warm overall touch of the wool.
The Basotho people had a great love and respect for Queen Victoria and the Victoria England blanket has become a sought-after status symbol – the most famous design being the Badges of the Brave which was inspired by the Basotho regiments who fought alongside the Allies during World War II. The design features the various badges belonging to these regiments.
