Known as “the holders of the stick of God” the Rendille tribes of Northern Kenya inhabit some of the harshest landscapes on earth. Being pastoralists, young men’s lives revolve around livestock which they constantly protect from predators and rustlers.
This magnificent 1.8m x 1.2m masterpiece dramatically captures a young Moran (warrior) on patrol in the imposing Turkana landscape. The arid backdrop serves as stark contrast to the strikingly vibrant colours of the young warrior’s traditional dress.
