STONETOWN MAASAI ON CANVAS

R3,200.00

Description
A young Maasai captured walking the historic streets of Stone Town – a city of prominent historical and artistic importance in East Africa. Stone town’s architecture, mostly dating back to the 19th century, reflects the diverse influences underlying the Swahili culture, giving a unique mixture of Arab, Persian, Indian and European elements.
Colour, texture and composition – the colourful traditional Maasai Shuka is outstanding against the ancient earthy almost monochromatic textured building behind. Alluring.
Please note we do not use reclaimed wood to frame our works – canvasses are stretched over stabilizer bars and mounted within hardwood oak floater frames. The result is a luxuriously refined tour de force.
